It’s here – San Diego’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration – March 17. Get your ShamROCK on as San Diego rolls out the most sacred party day of the year. “Celebrating the Spirit of Ancient Ireland,” San Diego will host a number of activities celebrating the culture and pride of the Irish beginning with the annual parade in Balboa Park at 9:45 am which begins at Sixth and Juniper Streets and travels north on Fifth Avenue to Upas and then over to Sixth Avenue . The parade then moves South on Sixth Avenue to conclude at Juniper Street. It has over 120 entries this year, including Marching bands, floats, clowns, equestrian entries, bagpipe contingents, dancing groups, antique cars and much more. To continue the celebration, ShamROCK 2012 will be held in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter which is home to a number of Irish pubs. ShamROCK, for those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to participate, is a big green block party in the Gaslamp Quarter that happens every St. Patrick’s Day offering live Rock and Roll Music, and DJs spinning their records. This year there will be three stages of live entertainment. I am attaching the schedule for your convenience.
